Description
The REAL Impact Literacy Coaching System™ is a personalized, evidence-based literacy intervention program designed to accelerate reading and writing achievement specialized for students performing below grade level in English Language Arts.
Our Executive Consultant moved her 8th grade ELA students from 9% to 32% on or above grade level within three months!
Through individualized coaching, ongoing progress monitoring, and targeted instruction, students strengthen the foundational literacy skills necessary for classroom success while preparing for the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP), i-Ready Diagnostic assessments, district benchmark assessments, and other academic evaluations.
Rather than providing traditional tutoring or homework assistance, the program delivers a structured literacy coaching experience built around measurable growth, individualized action plans, and continuous collaboration with families to support long-term academic success.

Students Served
Grades 3–12
The program is designed for students who:
- Are performing below grade level in English Language Arts
- Need Tier I or Tier II literacy intervention and support
- Need additional reading and writing instruction outside the school day
- Need targeted preparation for ACAP and i-Ready assessments (or another state-required standardized test)
- Would benefit from individualized literacy coaching and progress monitoring
Initial Literacy Success Assessment™
Every student begins with a comprehensive literacy assessment designed to identify current strengths and instructional priorities.
The assessment includes:
- Reading comprehension analysis
- Vocabulary analysis
- Writing sample evaluation
- Grammar and language review
- Reading behaviors and learning profile
- ACAP readiness indicators
- i-Ready readiness indicators
- Individualized literacy growth goals
Individual Literacy Growth Plan™
Following the assessment, each student receives a personalized plan outlining:
- Current literacy strengths
- Priority instructional needs
- Measurable learning goals
- Recommended coaching schedule
- Home literacy strategies
- Progress benchmarks
- Recommended resources for continued growth
Progress Monitoring
Student growth is monitored throughout the coaching process.
Parents receive periodic reports that summarize:
- Skills mastered
- Areas requiring continued support
- Reading and writing growth
- Progress toward individualized goals
- Recommendations for future instruction
Assessment Preparation
Instruction is intentionally aligned with the literacy skills measured by:
- Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP)
- i-Ready Diagnostic Assessments
- District benchmark assessments
- Classroom reading and writing assessments
The coaching program focuses on strengthening the underlying literacy skills assessed by these measures rather than teaching test items or memorization strategies.
